ОписаниеB/W photo with typed caption on the reverse. The image shows German soldiers leading a group of Poles into the forest near the village of Palmiry, Poland, to be executed. The prisoners are blindfolded and they are carrying small parcels of personal possessions as they had been told that they were being transferred from one imprisonment to another, rather than to their execution. The forest outside Palmiry was the site of mass executions from 1939 to 1943. This photograph is undated, but was likely taken in early 1941.
