In the summer of 1942, Paris butcher, Edmond Batignole works hard and lives with his wife, daughter and her fiance who admires Germans. He inadvertently and unknowingly is partly responsible for the deportation of his Jewish neighbours and when their young son escapes and appears at his doorstep, he feels compelled to hide him and help him escape
