Beskrivning
On the eve of the second World War close to 20,000 Jews lived in Kielce. From late 1939 Jewish refugees began to arrive and in 1941 the Jewish population was about 27,000, and a ghetto was established. In five days , seventeen months after it was established the ghetto was liquidated, and 21,000 Jews were sent to Treblinka. Some 2,000 Jews were left in Kielce and they were kept in a small section of the ghetto and were eventually scattered among different labour camps. This essay deals with the labour camps in Kielce in the years 1942-44
