October 16, 1943: Eight Jews

This book is made up of two sections. The first being one of the best and most accurate accounts of the brief and efficient roundup of more than 1000 Roman Jews who were deported to Auschwitz. Eight Jews is the companion piece to October 16, 1943, and describes the Ardeatine cave massacres of March 24 1944. Both essays are considered important works on the Jews of Rome.
