Last traces: the lost art of Auschwitz

The author has gathered many black and white photographs taken by him of artistic fragments from walls, ceilings, doors and elsewhere within barracks, caves, cells, latrines, storerooms, washrooms and other locations. What we see are drawings, sketches, calendars, messages, poems, scribblings, markings, graffiti, slogans etc. - graphic evidence produced by the inmates to convey their anguish and yearning. Also gives in text and interview form the story of some of the artists.
