ОписаниеThis is a certificate from the Czechoslovak Consul General in Cape Town that Bedrich Albera applied unconditionally for enlistment as a volunteer for the Czechoslovak Army on 23 October 1942. He has been found fit for military service A1. At the time of enlistment Fritz was interned in Mauritius. The certificate is date 15 June 1943 but Fritz was not accepted into the army until 1944. The reason he gives is that he was not of sound health and he was finally accepted out of desperation.
With worsening condition in Czechoslovakia it was decided that Bedrich should leave to find a new home and bring his family later. Fritz was attempting to get to Palestine to join his brother but was caught by the British and interned in Mauritius for 4 years. He was released when he was given the opportunity to join the South African Army. He was later decommissioned to Palestine.
