НазваниеHitler and Walter Scherff, wounded
Создатель Heinrich Hoffmann
ОписаниеBlack and white photographgraph of Adolf Hitler visiting a wounded major-general Walter Scherff (centre) in the hospital. Scherff sustained his injuries in the bomb blast at the Wolf's Lair Headquarters in Rastenburg, East Prussia, on 20 July 1944 during the attempt to assassinate Hitler. Scherff was a military historian appointed by Hitler to the OKW (Obercommando der Wehrmacht - High Command of the Armed Forces) in May 1942 to compile a history of the war. He was a great admirer of Hitler and, after being captured by the Americans and learning of Germany's surrender, he shot himself on 24 May 1945. This is a copy of the famous original photographgraph by Heinrich Hoffman, from Hoffmann's archives.
