ОписаниеDecorative glazed dessert plate with a deep blue centre, pink and yellow flowers with pale green leaves and a tan and brown incised scalloped border with some gilding.
George Faludi was in hiding in Budapest from September 1944 to January 1945. After Liberation he returned to his family home in Ujpest to find that his neighbour had occupied it. He applied to the authorities but could recover only one room. He married 16 year-old Vera Gero, who also survived the war by hiding. When they left Hungary they took with them some useful items, like this dessert plate, to remind George of home.
