НазваниеPhotograph of deported Jews at Dabrowa Gornica, Poland
ОписаниеBlack and white photograph showing a group of five people, four males and one female, with a Star of David on their jackets, with the word 'Jude', Dabrowa Gornica, Poland, early 1940s. They are standing on an unpaved road; in the background are Jews being deported on horse and cart.
The donor used to play with the children in the photograph, and their parents ran the bakery and grocery shop. She has identified the woman in the scarf as from the Szaksy (pronounced Zaksee) family, and thinks some of the boys may be her brothers. ("I am unsure of the correct spelling, so hope that the pronunciation will help identify the correct name") The original of the photo has a handwritten inscription containing the words "in memory", the rest is indistinct.
