ОписаниеHandwritten liturgical text prayer sheet, double sided, in Hebrew, featuring the key prayers for Kol Nidre Night on the eve of Yom Kippur, done by a person who is clearly very literate both in the texts and in Hebrew spelling, especially if it was done by memory. He has written 5701, which translates to 1940 in the Gregorian calendar.
The prayer sheets were printed and issued by Chaplain Rabbi Rene Samuel Kapelovitz for spiritual comfort to inmates in an internment camp, Toulouse, France, for the different Jewish festivals and High Holy days, 1941.
Rabbi Kapelovitz (Kapel) was the 'Aumonier des camps' - chaplain and welfare officer of all reception centres and camps of internment of south/west France from August 1940 to December 1942. In 1941 there was an internment camp in Recebedou, a suburb of Toulouse.
