ОписаниеCigarette tin with swastika.
This object originates from the National Socialist regime in Germany, 1933-1945. The museum approaches the history of the Holocaust primarily from the perspective of the victims. However, objects connected to the perpetrators are also preserved as evidence of the ideology and human choices that enabled genocide. While the museum does not actively acquire Nazi memorabilia, families of former Allied soldiers often donate items such as German medals, buckles, flags or daggers, presumably taken as war souvenirs. These objects are not displayed to glorify or endorse Nazi ideology. Rather, they demonstrate how symbols were mobilised in the service of persecution and violence, offering insight into the mechanisms of power and the individuals who sustained the regime.
