The aging process of the Jewish population of Germany accelerated with the panic to leave the country triggered by Kristallnacht. In October 1941 the Jewish population was reduced to 160,000- about 50,000 senior citizens, many impoverished. The 60+ population three times geater than the 0-19 age group.
