Barnett Levey's Theatre Royal: a reassessment

In this article Irvin agues against what he sees as the popular assumption that although Levey established the theatre in Australia, his work was of no lasting importance and real Australian theatre did not begin until long afterwards. Irvin argues Levey deserves more credit and Australian theatre can consider him an important founder.
