Описание
Examines the role and activities of Catholic social worker Margarete Sommer, director of the Church's Berlin-based Special Relief Office in World War II. Charged with reporting to German bishops on Nazi anti-Jewish measures, Sommer unsuccessfully sought to influence them to speak out. She did however succeed in hiding Jews, protecting them from deportation, and facilitating their emigration.
