A multiplicity of lives

Klempfner recounts her escape from the Warsaw ghetto through rat-infested sewers and her father's role in the Underground movement in Poland. She describes subsequent situations where she was helped by complete strangers, including a German medical officer, until she was finally reunited with her parents at the end of the war.
