In some circles Pius XII has been singled out as a surrogate for the failure of governments, organizations and other individuals to respond to the plight of the Jews and other minorities. Revisionist dogma has arrived at the point in which the Church under Pius XII was as responsible for the Holocaust as the Nazis who carried it out.
