BeschrijvingTrauer album dedicated to Georg Rothholz. Georg Rothholz was a business owner from Breslau, Germany. He owned a department store called Georg Rothholz, which sold homewares and clothing. Georg was married to Sylvia Schindler, and had two children—Irene and Rudi.
On the morning of the 6th of April, 1933, Georg arrived at his shop to find it defaced with swastikas. Later that morning, Georg committed suicide.
Yahrzheit is a Yiddish word meaning anniversary of a death. It is the yearly anniversary of a loved one’s death (traditionally the anniversary of the Hebrew date, not the Gregorian date). Jews observe yahrzeit at home by lighting a special long-burning candle in memory of the deceased.
