BeschrijvingThis is a Certificate by the Local National Council of Bánovce nad Bebravou Slovakia and an Eye Witness Statement testifying that Bela Fessler died in Lublin/Majdanek. The certificate confirms that Bella Fessler, born 14 June 1899 in Bratislava of Israelite religion, last known address in the district Bánovce nad Bebravou, was deported for reasons of racial persecution to Majdanek in Poland on 27 March 1942. The certificate is dated 30 July 1946, signed by two council’s officials. The accompanying hand-written eye-witness statement by Jakub Schenk testifies that Bela Fessler died in Lublin. The note has been officially certified by the Council officials on 3 October 1946.

It is likely that he perished there because there has been no news of him since then. This document is issued on the request to issue a death certificate according to the decree of the President of the Republic no. 117/45. The certificate is dated 30 July 1946, signed by two council’s officials. Beneath is a handwritten note by Jakub Schenk "I witnessed that the abovementioned died in Lublin". The note was officially verified by the Council officials on 3 October 1946.
