Beschrijving

A plea for recognition of the Nazi murders of Gypsies in World War II as a tragedy comparable to that of the Jews; and a complaint directed against those, like Elie Wiesel, who seek to monopolise the Holocaust on behalf of Jews. Supporting arguments include the facts that gypsies had been legally discriminated against in Germany since the end of the 19th century; that Nazi racial definitions were stricter for gypsies than Jews; and that their attempted destruction was no less racially motivated than that of the European Jews.It is emphasised that this is not basically a "Jews versus gypsies" issue.
