Discusses the contents of 52 letters written by three different Jewish mothers living in the Thessaloniki ghetto, sent to their sons residing in Athens during the Second World War. Details the lives of ordinary Jewish citizens living in the ghetto; family and inter-communal relations, daily nutrition, diseases and prices of different goods. These accounts also describe the circumstances and emotions before and during the deportations.
