Medicine and human rights: a proposal for international action

Medical ethics are viewed as universal, and the use of the art of medicine to benefit individual patients is its core. There is universal condemnation of physicians who engage in 'crimes against humanity' such as torture, killing and involuntary human experimentation under government auspices.
