Victims or villains: Jewish images in classic English detective fiction

Jewish characters have appeared in English detective fiction from its beginnings. The book traces the evolution of the Jewish caricature in crime writing. The author also analyses the reevaluation of Jewish stereotyping after 1930 as result of the development of the crime novel and in light of the rise of Hitler.
