darkness we carry: the drama of the Holocaust

A scholarly analysis of more than 25 plays written in English, German, French and Hebrew. Some of the topics covered include comic and tragic forms of plays, the concept of tragedy, and the questions of survival and choice. Also contains some discussion of the moral dilemmas presented in the plays and how the dramas succeed as works of literature.
