[nb-NO]Description[nb-NO]Photograph of Rachel Marks (denoted by a blue x), mother of the donor, with a group of nurses. The photo was taken during WWI. There are two inscriptions on the back in two different styles of handwriting and ink. One reads : ‘Taken at Anzac Buffet last time on (last two words indecipherable)’, the other: ‘Babe Sussman 1st World War’.
Rachel Marks was allegedly dating Maurice Sussman, a trooper with the 6th Light Horse, during the First World War (see item M2007/065:002). They married in 1921.
