[nb-NO]Description[nb-NO]Black and white photograph of Arthur Spindler by Mark Tedeschi, c1992. Arthur survived the war using a false identity as a wheat controller for a German firm contracted to supply grain, and as a quartermaster to the Polish resistance. For his bravery, Poland decorated Arthur Spindler with the rare Cross of Valour, the Silver Cross with Swords and made him a lieutenant, even though he was a civilian.
