[nb-NO]Description[nb-NO]Postcard from a German POW camp, drawn by POW K.V. Wood and printed by "The Camp" for the prison newspaper. On the front in English it states: “A Merry Xmas and a Happy New Year”. On the left is a drawing of a guard tower tucked amongst trees in a forest. In front is the profile of a soldier looking towards and waving his hat to Great Britain. On the back are details in German to be filled out but the card has not been used. Hal Finkelstein (WX4637) served in 2/7th Field Ambulance in the Australian Imperial Force during WWII. He was taken Prisoner on 1 June 1941 at Sphakia on the south coast of Crete. He spent the following three years as a POW in German camps until his release in 1944.
