[nb-NO]Description[nb-NO]Official letter from U.K. Army Liaison Staff in Melbourne, Australia, dated 26 August 1946, requesting the AMF Discharge Depot at Royal Park, Australia, to issue Pte. Alfred Hofbauer, of Pioneer Corps, with his discharged servicemans civilian tobacco ration voucher on his final discharge to Australia. Alfred Hofbauer was born in 1913 in Vienna and found refuge in France c. 1938. He escaped to Switzerland c. 1939, joined the French Foreign Legion 1939/1940, then the Pioneer Corps, British Army in 1943. He fought in North Africa and Italy in World War II and came to Australia in 1946.
