[nb-NO]Description[nb-NO]Official circular marked "Urgent" from Hilsfonds general (no addressee) informing applicants of the unavoidable delays in processing applications. 30,435 applications for assistance had been received, some of these urgent. It was hoped that by November (1958) they would be processed. This circular was donated with other materials from Alfred Hofbauer, who had applied for such compensation. Alfred was born in 1913 in Vienna and escaped from Austria to Switzerland c. 1939, joined the French Foreign Legion 1939/1940, then the Pioneer Corps, British Army in 1943. He fought in North Africa and Italy in World War II and came to Australia in 1946.
