Ella Krug was born in Germany in 1931 and arrived in Australia as a seven year old in January 1938. Her family had Australian relatives (Kauffmann, Marcus) who managed to obtain permits to emigrate to Australia.
Artists statement: "I have had a good life in this beautiful country but obviously have never forgotten the tragic events we were spared."
