[nb-NO]Description[nb-NO]Colour footage of the laying of the foundation stone and the opening of the Sephardi Synagogue 15 July, 1962.
The footage starts with people on the street and walking up to the synagogue. The Synagogue is unfinished at this point. Many prominent members of the community can be seen such as Jewish members of Parliament Abe Landa and Sid Einfeld.
Rabbi Dr Israel Porush and Rabbi Dr. H Freedman conducted the consecration services and members of the Board took part in the religious service. The Scrolls of the Law in silver casings were carried by the Rabbis into the synagogue.
