[nb-NO]Description[nb-NO]This is a farewell letter written by Alois Seidl before he and his wife were deported to a camp, where they subsequently perished. It was sent to Mrs Jordan, mother of the donor, who worked in the Seidl household as a housekeeper. It was written from Vienna on 20.10.1941. Alois Seidl writes, "In haste I inform you that we have to be ready for resettlement on Thursday, the 23rd. We have already packed our suitcases and backpacks." It thanks Mrs. Jordan for her loyalty to the family and wishes her own family well while they "have to obey the order of a higher power." The last sentence says, "We shall write you when possible."
