During the Holocaust, Spain was still cautious about the possibility of mass Jewish immigration into their territory and took action to prevent it. After WWII the Spanish Government issued orders at limiting the presence of Jews and keeping their numbers to a minimum. The Catholic Church continued to play a role in this and the education system was anti-Semitic, using propaganda from the time of the Inquisition and still overseen by the Church.
