This book highlights the courage and sacrifice of Jewish men - citizen soldiers - who left their peacetime careers to lead Australian troops when they were called to serve. The text details at length the three generals and four brigadiers, and adds at least thirty Jewish colonels, who also served. Amongst them were doctors and surgeons, as well as Generals Monash and Cullen, Brigadier Masel, and Colonels Margolin and Cheeseman and Caro.
