[nb-NO]Description[nb-NO]
Lemkin was the premier pioneering scholar of "Genocide Studies". He is slowly receiving recognition not only as the author of the term Genocide and as the driving force behind the "Genocide Convention" of 1948. His moral concern was with the plight of the defenseless innocents, coupled with his own direct and indirect experiences at the hands of the Nazis in Poland prior to his escape in 1941
