Henry Bernstein lived an extraordinary life, travelling over five continents, involved in tribal warfare in southern and western Africa, upheavals in South America, and espionage in Europe. He faced arrest and was then used by the British Security Intelligence in Holland in World War I, and his unconventional activities became the subject of debate twice in the British House of Commons
