Prof. Walter tells the story of his grandfather, a well-known doctor in Vienna, who managed to escape from Europe and eventually find his way to Palestine, where he established his medical pratice in Jerusalem. In 1947 with the outbreak of civil war, he decided to move to Australia. He failed to establish his life successfully in Australia, and Prof. Walter conveys the tragic pathos of his grandfather's story - another highly successful Viennese Jew whose life was totally disrupted by the Nazi era
