[nb-NO]Description[nb-NO]
Davies was born in North Adelaide in 1867 and became a consulting engineer in the mining industry in Broken Hill, NSW. Ill health forced him to travel to South Africa in the 1890s, where he became critical of the Boer government and a vocal advocate of British interventionism, before actually fighting in the Boer War. This article also reprints newspaper clippings relating to his performance in the war.
