Isidore Myers was born at Suvalki in Poland in 1856 to a Hebrew teacher. He arrived in Melbourne with his family in 1859, and was educated at a Jewish day school. He ministered to two Victorian congregations in the 1880s and then moved onto Hollywood and the motion picture industry.
