This essay is the story of Miron Shapira who grew up in Romania. Through the British embassy, where his father worked for a while, the family were able to get visas for Palestine before Romania was invaded by the Germans. In 1947 after living in Palestine for a few years, Miron obtained a visa for Australia where he finally settled.
