On the occasion of the 85th anniversary of the World War I Armenian Genocide, parallels are drawn with the World War II Holocaust of European Jews. As with the latter, there are those who seek to deny or trivialise the relevant facts. Another tactic is to manipulate statistics. Denying the Armenian Genocide has served as the prototype for subsequent Holocaust denials.
