Ringelblum was Polish-Jewish historian and community activist. In the Warsaw Ghetto he organized a group of writers to document and preserve a record of the Holocaust and alert the world to the tragedy and heroism of the Jewish people. This is an extract from an essay describing the work done by the Oyneg Shabbes organisation.
