[nb-NO]Description[nb-NO]
The author discusses the resistance movement from the point of view of those in the ghettos who proclaimed the idea of uprising and implemented it, called it "defence".The potential defence forces that appeared and developed in the conditions of the German occupation were continuations of the public and political forces that had crystallised in the two decades between the two World Wars; in the ghettos, the psychological readiness for revolt, defence and fighting capacity, and their scope had been fashioned in accordance with their pre-war political-movement structure.
