This essay is the tragic story of a poet - Simkha-Bunim Shayevitch who wrote poetry while in the Lodz ghetto, and despite ill health and exhaustion managed to write poetry which on occassion was published in the Lodz ghetto daily. There are very few who remembered him after the war as most either died in the ghetto, or were gassed in Auschwitz.
