The deportation of Poles to KL Auschwitz was mainly the result of punitive actiion by the German police against the Polish underground, and of reprisals taken against the civilian population in connection with underground activities. One example of such an operation was 'Aktion Oderberg'. Lists of names of prisoners sent to Auschwitz in the collective transports of August 13, 14, and 16, 1943 are given
