[nb-NO]Description[nb-NO]
The incorporation of Austria in 1938 gave birth to the Grossdeutsche Reich. In this article the author examines the development before and after the Anschluss. His survey, complemented by statistics and photographs, reveals the drastic measures and impact of the stages of expropriation and forced emigration, conscript labour and expulsion. Of the 130,000 Jews, 66% left the newly established Reichsgau Ostmark, 65,000 were murdered.
