Music has been a vital aspect of Jewish culture since biblical times and 'klezmer' music is one particular style of central and eastern European Jewish music. In general 'klezmer' refers to Jewish folk instrumentalists. This essay is based on the social history of 'klezmorim', as described in yizker books
