Due to the political and economic situation only two memorial books were published in Poland, specifically of Vilno and Lukow in 1947. For many years Yizkor books were almost unkown. One of the main obstacles was the linguistic barrier. In Poland, a number of decades passed before a new phenomenon appeared resulting in publication of delayed memorial books, the results of searches by individual authors or groups of people.
