The feeling for recording experiences was shared by a great many survivors. As soon as they emerged from bunkers and forests they began to collect material to put into written form. Special sections in each yizkor book are devoted to the Holocaust. The survivors describe their experiences and how they manage to stay alive. They vary in quality. Some are edited by specialists and contain important information; others by amateurs incapable of handling the material adequately
