This paper is based on work completed at the Survivors of the Shoah Visual History Foundation and on 180 interviews, some with survivors of the Hungarian forced labour service system. Hundreds of videotaped interviews were viewed in order to clarify the survivor's narrative, and a small percentage were chosen to form the statistical basis for this paper
