The selections produced here are from two collections of Katz's essays. The first 3 selections are drwan from his Post-Holocaust Dialogues. Selections 4 and 5 are republished from his Historicism, the Holocaust and Zionism. All the selections reflect a close, critical reading of the work under review and have been selected specifically because they reflect upon earlier book reprinted in this anthology. Katz is appreciative of the diverse intellectual efforts that have been made to decipher and respond to the theological challenges posed by the Holocaust, but, ultimately, he finds each of the positions he reviews logicvally and philosophically unpersuasive, hence the need to continue this vital theological conversation.
